The Assistant Manager, Costing supports the execution of the sourcing development costing function for apparel across multiple manufacturing plants. The role is responsible for ensuring accurate, consistent, and timely product costing throughout the product development and sourcing cycle.
This role supports the implementation of standardized, data-driven costing for raw materials and processes and provides the analysis required to improve cost visibility, identify margin opportunities, and enable fact-based decision-making.

Key responsibilities include:
Support seasonal cost planning and projections by consolidating costing information, analyzing trends, and identifying potential risks and margin improvement opportunities.
Conduct detailed product cost analysis, including materials, labor, manufacturing processes, overhead, and other key cost drivers.
Support seasonal FOB negotiations with vendors and manufacturing partners by providing fact-based cost analysis, benchmarks, and cost breakdowns.
Partner with internal areas and vendors to identify product engineering and value-engineering opportunities that improve cost without compromising product quality, performance, or design intent.
Track and consolidate seasonal FOB evolution across GTM milestones, ensuring accurate and timely visibility of cost status, risks, variances, and projections.
Analyze variances between initial estimates, targets, negotiated costs, and final FOB, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
Prepare milestone-based costing reports, dashboards, and analyses to support decision-making by the Senior Manager and cross-functional stakeholders.
Support the implementation and continuous improvement of standardized costing methodologies, tools, processes, and reporting frameworks.
Ensure costing data integrity and consistency across products, vendors, manufacturing countries, and systems.
Work closely with regional sourcing teams and vendors to ensure adherence to established costing standards and processes.
Identify opportunities to improve costing efficiency through process improvement, automation, analytics, and digital tools.
Provide insights and recommendations based on costing data to support sourcing, product development, and margin optimization decisions.
Support the development of costing capabilities across sourcing teams and vendors by sharing tools, methodologies, benchmarks, and best practices.

Requisitos

Bachelor’s degree or above in Textile Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
Relevant experience in apparel sourcing, manufacturing, product development, raw material and production costing, and cost engineering.
Hands-on knowledge of apparel product costing, including materials, labor, manufacturing processes, overhead, and FOB cost structures.
Experience working with apparel vendors and manufacturing partners across one or more sourcing markets.
Experience supporting product cost negotiations and/or cost optimization initiatives.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to work with large volumes of costing and product data.
Strong Excel and data-analysis capabilities; experience with costing systems, BI tools, or other digital analytics platforms is an advantage.
Ability to develop clear reports, dashboards, and presentations that translate complex costing information into actionable business insights.
Good communication skills with the ability to articulate analysis and recommendations clearly, both verbally and in writing.
Good commercial acumen and understanding of the financial impact of sourcing and costing decisions.
Knowledge of financial reporting concepts or systems, including IFRS or US GAAP, is an advantage.
Experience working in a global or regional matrix organization and across different cultures and manufacturing markets is preferred.
